Waterboys (The) were originally formed in London (UK) in 1983, and are fronted by lead singer / songwriter Mike Scott, with a sound that ranges from Celtic-tinged folk-rock to alternative anthems. After ten years of recording and touring, The Waterboys split in 1993 and Scott pursued a solo career. They reformed in 2000, and continue to release albums and tour worldwide. The bands line up is very fluid with musicians coming and going on a regular basis.
In 2000 The Waterboys played one of their first-ever shows at Glastonbury.
Since then the group have consistently released albums and toured extensively.
