Troye Sivan

Troye Sivan Mellet (born June 5, 1995) is an Australian singer-songwriter, musician, actor, and YouTuber. He gained popularity as a singer on YouTube, and later became known for his roles in the films X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), Spud (2010), and its sequel Spud 2: The Madness Continues (2013). He also had a starring role in the 2019 film Boy Erased.

Sivan began his career by starring in a number of short films and television roles and by uploading music videos to YouTube. His debut extended play, TRXYE (2014), peaked at number 5 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and was preceded by the lead single, “Happy Little Pill”, which reached number 10 on the Australian Singles Chart. His second extended play, Wild (2015), reached number 5 on the Billboard 200, and its lead single, “Youth”, reached the top 20 in Australia and New Zealand.

In 2015, Sivan was featured on the song “The Fault In Our Stars” with singer/songwriter, Allie X. He released his third extended play, Blue Neighborhood, in December 2015. Its lead single, “Youth”, was certified platinum in Australia and gold in New Zealand and Sweden. In 2018, he released his fourth extended play, Bloom, and its lead single, “My My My!”, charted in the top ten in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, and was certified gold in Australia.

Sivan is an advocate for various social and political causes, including LGBT rights. He was included on Time magazine’s list of the “25 Most Influential Teens of 2014”, and was included in Forbes magazine’s “30 Under 30” list of entertainers in 2016. He has won multiple awards, including two ARIA Music Awards and an MTV Europe Music Award.
