Traffic, the brainchild of Steve Winwood, was a successful group on the rock music scene in the late ’60s and early ’70s. Beginning in the psychedelic year of 1967 and reportedly influenced by The Beatles.

In the groups infancy the members lived together in a country cottage in Berkshire and collaborated on their songs.  Their debut single, “Paper Sun,” peaked in the U.K. Top Five in July 1967 and also spent several weeks in the lower reaches of the charts in America.

Traffic’s disbanded in 1969, then reunited in 1970 to release a critically acclaimed album. The band’s line-up varied from this point until they disbanded again in 1974. 

Traffic were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.
