Tate McRae is a pop singer from Canada. She released her first single, “One Day,” in the summer of 2019. She is best known for her single “You Broke Me First” from her 2020 EP ‘All the Things I Never Said’, which became a commercial and streaming success.

McRae began dancing at the age of three, and was trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop. At age 12, she began posting her original singing and dancing videos on YouTube. She later rose to fame when she competed on the first season of the reality TV show World of Dance in 2017, where she showcased her singing and dancing skills, placing second in the competition and winning the $1 million prize.

In 2019, McRae released her debut single, “One Day,” which went viral, garnering over 10 million streams. She followed this up with her EP ‘All the Things I Never Said’ in 2020, which spawned the hit single “You Broke Me First,” which has been streamed over 300 million times and achieved multiple platinum certifications.

Since the release of her EP, McRae has gone on to collaborate with other artists, including Sabrina Carpenter and Lil Mosey. She has also opened for artists such as Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber. McRae’s music has been recognised with a Juno Award, as well as her first Grammy nomination in 2021 for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella for her remake of “You Broke Me First.”
