The Strawbs : an English rock band, founded in 1964 by singer/guitarist Dave Cousins. Originally called ‘The Strawberry Hill Boys’ the group consisted of Cousins, Tony Hooper (guitar/vocals), and Arthur Phillips (mandolin), who was replaced in 1968 by Ron Chesterman (bass) on bass. The band renamed themselves ‘the Strawbs’ and in 1969 were signed to A&M Records, and recorded their first album. Their sound originated in English folk music

“Part of the Union” is a song by English band Strawbs, featured on their 1973 album Bursting at the Seams and was the band’s most successful single, peaking at number 2 in the UK Singles Chart. It also reached number 10 in the Irish Singles Chart.
