Orville Richard Burrell (born October 22, 1968), better known by his stage name Shaggy, is a Jamaican musician, singer, DJ and former United States Marine. He is best known for his hit singles “Oh Carolina”, “Boombastic”, “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel”.   He took his stage name from the character in the popular children’s TV show Scooby-Doo. In 1987, he took singing courses and was discovered a year later, while singing in the streets with friends. He won a Grammy Award for his Album Boombastic in 1996.
