Raul Malo is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and record producer. He is the lead singer of the hugely popular band The Mavericks and the co-writer of many of their singles.
During the latter years of the ’90s, Malo began doing solo work alongside his work with the Mavericks and in October 1999 he completed his first solo tour in the U.K.
In early 2001, the Mavericks ceased playing gigs together but Raul Malo continued to work with his bandmates.
The Mavericks re-formed in 2012 and continue to tour extensively. In 2015 they won the Americana music award for duo/group of the year.
