One Direction was a British/Irish boy band. Originally, each member auditioned as a solo artist for the 7^th series of The X Factor UK. Since the release of their first single What Makes You Beautiful, they continued to have much success until 2016 when the band members began following separate careers as part of a planned ‘band holiday’. It is unclear if or when they will re-form.
