Noel Murphy (born 27 November 1943) is an Irish folk musician, actor and entertainer.

At school he was a keen actor and drummer. He was also a gifted football goalkeeper.

In 1962 he moved to England and began as an unpaid support act before launching his professional career in 1964. During his time as a compere and singer in a club, he performed alongside Ralph McTell. In 1968 he teamed up with Davey Johnstone who later became a guitarist in Elton John’s touring band.

In June 1987, Noel Murphy made his only appearance in the UK Singles Chart, with the song, “Murphy and the Bricks”.
