Nightwish is a Finnish band formed in 1996 and was founded by keyboardist and songwriter Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and vocalist Tarja Turunen. Nightwish’s music is characterized by a symphonic and operatic sound, with elements of power metal.

The band gained international success with their albums “Oceanborn” (1998) and “Wishmaster” (2000), which featured hit songs like “Sleeping Sun” and “Wishmaster”. However, it was their 2004 album “Once” that catapulted them to global fame, reaching the top of charts in several countries and spawning the popular singles “Nemo” and “Wish I Had an Angel”.

In 2012, Olzon left the band and was replaced by Floor Jansen as the new lead vocalist. With Jansen, Nightwish released the critically acclaimed albums “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” (2015) and “Human. :II: Nature.” (2020).
