Lena Horne

Lena Mary Calhoun Horne (June 30, 1917 – May 9, 2010) was an American jazz and pop music singer, dancer, actress, and civil rights activist. Her career spanned over 70 years: appearing in film, television, and theatre.  Her TV appearances include: Perry Como’s Kraft Music Hall, The Ed Sullivan Show, The Dean Martin Show, The Bell Telephone Hour, The Judy Garland Show and The Andy Williams Show.

Lena achieved Grammy Awards for Best Jazz Vocal Performance and Lifetime Achievement Award, and Songwriters Hall Of Fame, Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Outstanding Actress (Musicals).
