Journey is an American rock band best known for their hit singles “Don’t Stop Believin'” and “Any Way You Want It.”

The band has undergone several lineup changes over the years, but the classic lineup of Steve Perry (vocals), Neal Schon (guitar), Jonathan Cain (keyboards), Ross Valory (bass), and Steve Smith (drums) is the one most associated with the band’s greatest success in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Journey’s first album ‘Journey’ was released in 1975 and was followed by a self-titled live album in 1977. The band’s breakthrough came with their third album ‘Infinity’ which was released in 1978 and featured the singles “Lights” and “Wheel in the Sky.” Infinity was a huge success, reaching #2 on the Billboard 200 chart and selling more than three million copies.

Journey’s next album ‘Evolution’ was released in 1979 and featured the hit single “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’.” Evolution reached #4 on the Billboard 200 and sold more than four million copies.

Their 1980 album ‘Departure’ featured the hit singles “Any Way You Want It” and “Who’s Crying Now.”

‘Escape’ was released in 1981 and featured the hit singles “Don’t Stop Believin'” and “Open Arms.” Escape reached #1 on the Billboard 200.

Several hit songs and albums later, Journey is considered one of the most successful rock bands of all time, with sales of more than 100 million records worldwide. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
