Johnny Rivers is an American rock and roll singer, songwriter, guitarist, and record producer.

Rivers’ first band was called the Spades, and they had a hit with “Muddy Water” in 1964. He then moved to Los Angeles and started his own band, Johnny Rivers and the Ramblers.

Johnny Rivers had a string of hits in the 1960s and 1970s, including “Mignight Special,” “Secret Agent Man,” “Baby, I Need Your Lovin‘,” ( a cover of the Four Tops hit) and “Poor Side of Town.” He also produced records for other artists, including Chuck Berry, The Mamas and the Papas, and Elvis Presley. In the 1980s, Rivers made a comeback with the album Back to the Roots, which featured his versions of classic rock and roll songs.
