John Miles (born John Eric Barrett, 2 April 1949, Jarrow, County Durham, England) is an English rock music singer, songwriter, composer and producer. He is best known for his 1976 Top 3 UK hit single, “Music.”

Miles began his career as a member of the progressive rock band, Genesis, before going solo in 1971. He has released 17 solo albums, including his 1976 breakthrough album, ‘Stranger in the City’. He has also produced albums for other artists, including Kate Bush and Steve Hackett.

In addition to his music career, Miles has also worked as a race car driver and as an actor, appearing in the films The World Is Not Enough and Rush.
