Janie Fricke – Jane Marie Fricke known professionally as Janie Fricke, is an American country music singer, songwriter, record producer, and clothing designer.

She has achieved almost twenty singles in the top ten of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, eight of which songs reached the number one spot.

She has also won accolades from the Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association and has been nominated four times from the Grammy Awards.

From an early age she was able to play guitar and piano and read sheet music. Later she would perform at local coffeehouses with her guitar.  She joined the student performance group at University and performed nationally and internationally. She also worked as a singer making jingles for national advertising campaigns.

In the early 1970’s she gained an administration position at the offices of a country music producer. She auditioned and joined The Lea Jane Singers, a singing quartet that added backing vocals to Nashville recording sessions. Her voice can be heard on recordings by artists such as Lynn Anderson, Elvis Presley and Tanya Tucker.

During the latter stages of the 1970’s, Janie Fricke signed a record deal as a solo artist. Her debut album was released in 1978. She has since released several more albums and been placed high in the country music charts throughout her career.
