J Cole –  Jermaine Lamarr Cole (born January 28, 1985), is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer.

His debut mixtape, The Come Up, came out in 2007. It was largely self-produced, but also saw him rapping over beats from Kanye West.

Since signing to Jay Z’s Roc Nation label, he has toured worldwide, sold huge amounts of records and produced for Kendrick Lamar.

Cole’s sophomore album, Born Sinner, came out in June 2013, it was another success. Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent were among the guests who appeared on the album.

Cole has won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Song, a Billboard Music Award for Top Rap Album, three Soul Train Music Awards, and 8 BET Hip Hop Awards. All five of his albums have been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), as well as Revenge of the Dreamers III.
