Iron Maiden are a heavy metal band from the UK founded by bassist Steve Harris in the mid 1970s.

After several line-up changes, the band went on to release a series of UK and US platinum and gold albums and then with the return of lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson in 1999 the band saw a resurgence in popularity. Iron Maiden’s won the Ivor Novello Award for international achievement in 2002. As of October 2013, the band has played over 2000 live shows throughout their career and in 2008 and 2009, Iron Maiden’s commissioned a Boeing 757 as transport. The airplane was converted to carry the band, their crew, and stage production. It was also repainted with a special Iron Maiden’s livery.
