Hoodoo Gurus are an Australian rock band, formed in 1981. The bands line-up consisted of : Dave Faulkner (songwriter, lead singer and guitarist), Richard Grossman (bass), Mark Kingsmill (drums), and Brad Shepherd (guitar, vocals, harmonica). Their popularity peaked in the mid to late 1980s with albums Mars Needs Guitars!, Blow Your Cool! and Magnum Cum Louder.
Hoodo Gurus took a break in 1998 with members pursuing other work but reformed in 2003 to record “That’s My Team” as the promotional theme for the National Rugby League. They recorded new albums, toured and headlined at festivals throughout the following few years and were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2007.
In 2018, the group held a benefit concert for the Tatra bushfire. The ‘Band Together’ concert sold out and ticket sales helped raise money towards helping residents affected by the bushfire.
