Harry Nilsson was an American singer / songwriter who started out as a studio writer in the early ’60s, and in 1967 released his first album, Pandemonium Shadow Show, which included a handful of his originals as well as covers of songs by the Beatles and others.

Most famous for his first Top 10 hit, a version of Fred Neil’s “Everybody’s Talkin’” and “Without You” he actually produced quite a few original albums but is remembered for his cover versions.

Nilsson was one of the few major pop-rock recording artists to achieve significant commercial success without ever performing major public concerts or undertaking regular tours.
