Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes were an American soul, R & B, Doo Wop and Disco vocal group, fronted by Harold Melvin. The group were signed to the Philadelphia International record label in the early 1950’s as The Charlemagnes but the name was changed to The Bluenotes in 1954. The line up of Melvin, Pendergrass (probably the most famous member), Bernard Wilson, Lawrence Brown, and Lloyd Parks had several major R&B and pop hits including million-selling singles and albums. Among the Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes’ most successful recordings are love songs such as 1972’s “If You Don’t Know Me By Now”,  “I Miss You”, “The Love I Lost” and songs such as “Wake Up Everybody”.
