Guy Sebastian is an Australian singer-songwriter. He was the first winner of Australian Idol in 2003, and has been a judge on Australia’s The X Factor. He represented Australia at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, finishing in 5th place.

His singing career began at the age of 14. He attended a Community Church and his involvement with the youth choir as a soloist led to national and international performance opportunities. After graduation, Sebastian found work as an audio engineer and vocal teacher.

The artist’s first single, “Angels Brought Me Here,” debuted at number one.

In 2010 he released “Like It Like That” in 2010. The same year, he was named as a judge on The X Factor Australia, and also released his first compilation album, Twenty Ten: Greatest Hits. In 2012 Sebastian released his sixth studio album.

During his career Sebastian has received 34 ARIA Award nominations, winning seven. Other awards include the APRA Urban Work of the Year, the [V] Oz Artist of the Year, Urban Music Awards for Best Male Artist and Best R&B Album, and an International Songwriting Competition award for “Battle Scars”.

He was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours in recognition of his significant service to music and charity.
