Cannibal and The Headhunters – Cannibal & the Headhunters were an American rock band founded in 1965 by Francisco Mario (Frankie Cannibal). The the other group members at the time were Bobby Jaramillo and Joe “Yo Yo” Jaramillo and Richard Lopez.

They were the opening act on The Beatles’ second American tour during 1965.

Their version of “Land of a Thousand Dances” (written by Chris Kenner and Fats Domino) reached No. 30 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1965. Wilson Pickett re-recorded the song in 1967 and it became a national hit.
