Candyman

John B. Shaffer III known by his stage name Candyman, is an American rapper and record producer. He is best known for his hit single “Knockin’ Boots“.

His first recording as solo artist was a 1989 12” EP ‘Hip Hop Addict’, which was self produced by Candyman.

Shaffer eventually signed to Epic Records in 1989 and released his debut album, ‘Ain’t No Shame in My Game’, in the following year. The lead single scored a Top 10 Billboard Hot 100.

The following year, he released ‘Playtime’s Over’ another independent LP  . He released ‘I Thought U Knew’ in 1993.

In 2007, he was featured in Nas’s ‘Where Are They Now (West Coast Remix)’.
