Brand New Heavies are an acid jazz and funk group formed in 1985 in Ealing in west London. Centered around songwriters/multi-instrumentalists Simon Bartholomew and Andrew Levy, the core members of the group since its founding, Brand New Heavies are best known for a string of successful singles in the early 1990s featuring N’Dea Davenport as lead vocalist.

The group began in 1985 when Bartholomew and Levy formed the band. Their debut album, Brand New Heavies, was released in 1990. Their second album, Brother Sister, was released in 1994 and saw the band taking their sound to a poppier style. It produced two successful singles, “Dream Come True” and “Midnight At The Oasis.”

They have released numerous albums throughout their three-decade career, and remain active today, collaborating with new artists and touring Europe.
