Colin Vearncombe, known by his stage name Black, was an English singer-songwriter. He achieved mainstream pop success in the late 1980s, most notably with the 1986 single “Wonderful Life”, which was an international hit the following year.
In 1982, Black played with the Thompson Twins on their ‘Quick Step and Side Kick’ tour.
After releasing a few low rated songs, Black released “Wonderful Life” in 1985 which reached number eight in the UK Singles Chart. “Wonderful Life” was later covered by singers including Kim Wilde and Tony Hadley.
Despite being considered by some as a one hit wonder, he continued to record and release music until his death in a car accident in 2016.
