The Bay City Rollers are a Scottish pop band whose popularity was highest in the mid 1970’s. Bay City Rollers popularity exploded after their first single hit the charts, and they subsequently released a string of top ten hits the UK.
The group has continued to thrive with different band members forming splinter groups, or joining together for concerts and in the 1990’s CD’s were released containing re-recordings of their old songs.
In 2015, the group were posthumously inducted into the Scottish Music Hall of Fame. The group are remembered as a significant pop act of the 1970s, both for their music and the impact of “Rollermania”, and remain a popular subject for nostalgia and music fans worldwide.
