Arielle Dombasle is a French-American singer, actress, director, and model. Born Arielle Laure Maxime Sonnery de Fromental in Hartford, Connecticut, Dombasle moved to Paris at age 14, and began modelling for fashion magazines. She appeared in campaigns for the likes of Foirest, Vogue, and Elle.

Dombasle enjoyed a successful acting career, appearing in films like “Les Uns et les Autres” (1981) and “The Big Blue” (1988). She also starred in several of Claude Lelouch’s films.

After securing her acting career she released several albums over the ensuing years. However, it was her performance of the title track in the movie “Bette Davis Eyes” that catapulted her to international fame. Most of her songs in Spanish and English.

In recent years, she has found success as a director, having directed the documentaries “L’Amour Fou” (2007) and “A la Folie” (2010). She is also an active philanthropist and public speaker, and has been involved with several charities, including UNICEF and Amnesty International.
