In the late 2000s, he joined grime groups ‘Combination Chain Gang’ and ‘the Movement’. At the same time he put out solo efforts as mixtapes.

The mixtape Teacher’s Training Day (2007) and album Wretchrospective (2008), saw Wretch 32 starting to gain mainstream success.

Ministry of Sound signed the artist and his first major-label single, “Traktor,” was released in January 2011. It debuted at number five on the U.K. singles chart.

His second studio album, Black and White, followed in mid-2011 preceded by two singles, “Unorthodox” (which sampled the Stone Roses) and the U.K. number one single “Don’t Go.”

In 2012 he headed out on tour with Example and also released the mixtape Wretchercise. While working on his third studio album, Wretch premiered two singles in 2013 – “Blackout” and “Doing OK”.

After a year out of the spotlight, he returned in November 2014 with the single “6 Words,” which reached number eight in the U.K. charts.

The artist continued to release new music with his mixtape little BIG man being released in 2021.
