Born Richard Starkey on July 7, 1940, in Liverpool, England, he joined the Beatles in 1962 and played on their most famous songs, including “Hey Jude,” “Let It Be,” and “Come Together.” Starr also contributed vocals to hit songs such as “Yellow Submarine” and “With a Little Help from My Friends.”

After the Beatles’ breakup in 1970, Starr embarked on a successful solo career, releasing numerous albums and hit singles. Some of his most popular solo songs include “It Don’t Come Easy,” “Photograph,” and “You’re Sixteen.”
