The Who is a best selling British Band formed in the 1960’s with the original line up of Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwhistle and Keith Moon. They spent a number of years as a group called The Detours, before a rebrand. Pirate Radio and TV supported them and their first single as The Who reached the top 10 in the UK Singles Charts.
They have a string of hits including My Generation, Magic Bus and Happy Jack. Their 1969 album “Tommy” was made into a successful rock opera film and included the massive hit Pinball Wizard and years later the same happened with the album “Quadrophenia”.
In 2016 Roger Daltrey was awarded a Music Industry Trusts Award (MITS) in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the music and entertainment industry and many charitable causes.
They are still touring today with two of the original members and are considered to be a mainstay of the British Rock Band scene alongside The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
