RAYE

Raye (often stylized as RAYE), is a British singer and songwriter. She is best known for featuring on Jonas Blue’s 2016 single “By Your Side” and, more recently, Jax Jones’ 2016 single “You Don’t Know Me”, which peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart. She was short-listed for the BBC Music Sound of… award for 2017 and was named in third place. In 2021, she featured on the single “Bed” with musicians Joel Corry and David Guetta.

As a child, she attended and sang gospel songs in church, where her father was the musical director, and her mother was a member of the choir. Later, she attended BRIT School, before dropping out after two. She spent most of her teenage years learning how to write songs professionally in studio sessions on the weekends.

In January 2023, Raye opened for Lewis Capaldi’s Tour in the UK and Ireland. Raye in support SZA on the second leg of their tour. Also in that year RAYE won a Global Award fro the song “Escapism” in the Best Social Trended Song category.
