Megadeth is an American thrash metal band formed in 1983 by guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson.
They quickly gained a following and released their debut album “Killing Is My Business… and Business Is Good!” in 1985.
Throughout the 1980s, Megadeth released several critically acclaimed albums, including “Peace Sells… but Who’s Buying?” (1986) and “Rust in Peace” (1990). These albums solidified their status as one of the “Big Four” thrash metal bands alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax.
Megadeth’s music often features complex guitar solos, fast tempo, and socially and politically charged lyrics. Their songs often touch on themes such as war, addiction, and personal struggles. Some of their popular songs include “Symphony of Destruction,” “Hangar 18,” and “Peace Sells.”
Over the years, the group has undergone several lineup changes, with Mustaine being the only constant member. Despite these changes, the band has continued to release music and tour extensively, earning a devoted fanbase worldwide.
In addition to their musical success, Megadeth has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards and has sold over 38 million records worldwide. They are considered one of the most influential and successful thrash metal bands of all time.
