Junior Brown is an American country and rockabilly singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is known for his “guit-steel”, a double-necked guitar that he designed and built himself.
Brown was born in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas.. He began playing guitar at the age of eight. After high school, he moved to Austin, Texas, where he played in a number of rock and country bands. In 1985, he formed the band Junior Brown and the Straight Aces.
Brown’s big break came in 1987, when he was asked to perform at the New York City World’s Fair. His performance was seen by millions of people, and he soon began appearing on television and radio shows. In 1988, he released his first album ‘Guit With It’.
Since then, Brown has released eight more albums, including Semi-Crazy (1996), which was nominated for a Grammy Award. He has also appeared in a number of films and television shows, including the Coen brothers’ film The Big Lebowski (1998).
Brown continues to tour extensively, performing both solo and with his band. He is widely considered to be one of the best guitarists in the world, and his unique style has influenced many other musicians.
