Johnny Hartman was an American jazz singer. He is best known for his baritone voice and his ability to convey emotion through his music. Hartman’s first album, ‘John Hartman’, was released in 1963. He went on to release several more albums throughout his career, including ‘The Voice That Is!’ (1965), ‘I Just Dropped By to Say Hello’ (1972), and ‘It Was the Best of Times’ (1994). Hartman also collaborated with several well-known musicians, including Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, and Count Basie. He is considered to be one of the finest jazz singers of all time.

In 1959 he released a version of the Jerome Kern/Ira Gershwin song “Long Ago And Far Away“.
