Joe Jackson is a British musician and singer-songwriter.
Jackson’s first band was formed while he was still a student at the Royal Academy of Music in London. The band, which Jackson named the Joe Jackson Band, played their first gig in June 1976. Jackson’s first album, ‘Look Sharp!’, was released in 1979 and reached the top 10 in the UK.
Jackson’s second album, ‘I’m the Man’, was released in 1982 and spawned the hit single “Steppin’ Out“.
Jackson has released several studio albums, including one live album and two compilations. He has also released sixty-nine singles, of which fourteen have reached the top 40 in the UK and nine have reached the top 40 in the US. Jackson has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
