The Jackson 5 (later known as The Jacksons) are a popular music family group from Indiana, America. Formed in 1964 under the name The Jackson Brothers, the founding members were Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael. After participating in talent shows and the chitlin’ circuit, they entered the professional music scene in 1967, first signing to Steeltown Records before signing with Motown in 1969.
The Jackson 5’s success began to decline in the mid-1970s, and the group left Motown in 1975. The brothers’ solo careers began to take off in the 1980s, but the group reunited for a successful tour in 1984. The group continued to perform periodically since then, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
