Imelda May is an Irish singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Described as having “a unique vocal talent,” Imelda May is known for her musical style of rockabilly revival and jazz.
As a youngster she played bars around Ireland with local bands, often getting barred from her own shows because she was under age. At the age of 28 she formed her own band and released her debut studio album. It was also around this time that she relocated briefly to London, UK. Her second studio album was released in 2009, after which she collaborated and toured with a number of artists. Her third studio album was released in 2010 and earned her a nomination for the Choice Music Prize followed by her fourth album in 2014. Her fifth studio album was released in 2017. In Ireland, May also had her own music TV show where she showcased the best of Irish and international talent.
