Hayley Westenra – Hayley Dee Westenra is a New Zealand classical crossover singer and songwriter.
Her first internationally released album, ‘Pure’, reached number one on the UK classical charts in 2003 and has sold more than two million copies worldwide, making it one of the fastest selling albums in her country’s history.
By age eleven, she had appeared in over 40 stage productions, sung on TV shows and performed in major concerts.
At the age of 12, Westenra entered a professional recording studio to record a demo album and shortly after, she was offered a recording deal with Universal Records New Zealand.
Her grandfather played piano and accordion, and her grandmother was a singer. In addition to her vocal talent, she plays the recorder, piano, violin, and the guitar.
At aged 18 Hayley joined Il Divo for their extensive tour of North America, Australia and Europe from January 2006.
She has released several International and Regional studio albums.
