Iconic American singer / songwriter Hank Williams wrote about life’s deepest truths and sang such unforgettable songs as “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “Take These Chains,” “I’m So Lonesome,” “Cold, Cold Heart” and many more. He is popularly considered one of the most influential country music artists of the 1940s and early 1950s, is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, was awarded the 2010 the Pulitzer Board special citation for songwriting and has a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
In recent years Egyptian Records in partnership with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s CMF Records and Columbia Records has released an album called The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams. The lyrics were taken from notebooks Hank Williams kept for songwriting purposes and, in collaboration with stars such as Bob Dylan, Norah Jones, Alan Jackson and Patty Loveless, the music has been written and songs produced.
Hank Williams died suddenly at the age of 29, after alleged years of alcohol and morphine consumption.
