Freddy Quinn is an Austrian singer and actor born in 1931. He began his career as a singer in the 1950s and became one of the most successful German-language singers of all time.
Quinn’s music was influenced by folk, country, and rock and roll. He released numerous hit songs, including “Heimweh” (Homesickness), “Junge, Komm Bald Wieder” (Boy, Come Back Soon), and “Hundert Mann und ein Befehl” (A Hundred Men and One Command).
In addition to his music career, Quinn also appeared in several films, mostly in roles that showcased his singing talent. Some of his notable films include “Freddy und das Lied der Prärie” (Freddy and the Song of the Prairie), “Freddy, die Gitarre, und das Meer” (Freddy, the Guitar, and the Sea), and “Freddy und der Milliardär” (Freddy and the Billionaire).
Throughout his career, Quinn sold millions of records and won numerous awards, including the Echo Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. Despite retiring from the music industry in 2002, he remains a beloved figure in German-speaking countries.
