Freddie Mercury, front-man of the iconic rock band Queen, embarked on a short solo career in the 1980’s. During this time he released two albums, ‘Mr Bad Guy’ and ‘Barcelona’.
‘Mr. Bad Guy’, debuted in the top ten of the UK Album Charts and in 1993, a remix of “Living on My Own“, posthumously reached number one on the UK Singles Charts.
The album ‘Barcelona’ was a collaboration between Freddie Mercury and operatic soprano Montserrat Caballé and was a commercial success. The album’s title track debuted at No. 8 in the UK, was a hit in Spain and was also the official anthem of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. A part of this album also appeared on Queen’s Greatest Hits III.
