Doors (The) – The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger, and drummer John Densmore. The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene marked the start of a string of hit singles and albums. They released six studio albums in all, as well as a live album and a compilation, before Morrison’s death in 1971.
There have been many attempts by the remaining band members to keep The Doors music alive and the 1990’s saw a resurgence in its popularity, especially with the younger generation. In early 2010, the band’s “Riders on the Storm” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
