Divine Comedy (The) is an alias for Neil Hannon, a singer / songwriter from Northern Ireland. Originally it was a trio but by the late 1990’s three had become one, although session musicians are regularly employed (including a 20 piece orchestra). He achieved his greatest commercial success in the years 1996–99, during which he had nine singles that made the UK Top 40, including the top ten hit “National Express”.
2016 saw the release of the album ‘Foreverland’, the band’s 11th studio LP, and was preceded by the single “Catherine the Great.”
