Dina Carroll (Geraldine) started singing with her sister at an early age and on winning a talent competition, decided that music was going to be the career to pursue. She signed to various dance and record labels and had a few club hits but it wasn’t until the 1990’s that she began to be recognised in the mainstream.
The release of her first album “So Close” propelled Dina Carroll into the UK Top 40 and her singles “Don’t Be A Stranger” and “Perfect Year” helped her to achieve Best British Female Vocalist at the 1994 Brit Awards. Although she has released a couple more albums, her prominence has faded and there has been no new music released since 2001 although she did record a version of the Randy Crawford classic, “Almaz” in 2003.
