Derek Ryan (born 24 August 1983) is an Irish Country singer. He was born in Garryhill, County Carlow, Ireland and was previously a pop singer in Irish boy band D-Side (2001–2006).
Working as a solo artist from 2006, he spent three years honing his craft around the club and bar circuit in London.
In 2009 he entered Irish song competitions performing his own compositions. In 2010, his song “God’s Plan” became a smash hit in Ireland.
Since then he’s released several albums and his songs have been recorded by the likes of Daniel O’Donnell and Foster and Allen.
Derek has won numerous accolades including Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Live Performer. He also received recognition for his songwriting abilities at the Sunday World and Irish Country Music Awards (ICMAs).
