Crystal Gayle is one of the most popular and widely recognised female country singers of her era. She is the much younger sister of Loretta Lynn.
She appeared on tour with her sister and when she was finally signed as a solo recording artist, was encouraged to emulate Loretta. Whilst this put her on the map, it wasn’t until Gayle signed to a new record label that she found her individual voice and achieved stardom. Her jazzy country song “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue” earned her her first Grammy Award.
Crystal Gayle has a Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, recently performed at The Grand Ole Opry and continues to tour extensively.
