Cardi B is an American rapper and songwriter.
Her first studio album, Invasion of Privacy (2018), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. It spawned two number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100; “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It“. Her Hot 100 number-one collaboration “Girls Like You” with band Maroon 5 made her the only female rapper to achieve multiple diamond-certified songs by the RIAA. She has since released further singles from her second album— “WAP” (2020) and “Up” (2021), both of which topped the Hot 100 and other charts globally.

She attended Renaissance High School for Musical Theater & Technology where she learnt her craft but in her teens life got tough and she ended up as a dancer in a strip club. By 2015 she had managed to leave that life behind her and gained a place on a Reality TV show. She left in 2016 to pursue her music career. Cardi B made her musical debut by appearing with Shaggy on his re-make of “Boom Boom” and a year later released her first full length mixtape project. She continued to work in television whilst trying to make her mark in music and eventually gained a contract with Atlantic Records. Since then she has gone on to collaborate with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora and Megan Thee Stallion.
