Betty Everett
Betty Jean Everett was an American soul singer and pianist, best known for her biggest hit single, the million-selling “Shoop Shoop Song (It’s In His Kiss)”, and her duet “Let It Be Me”  in which she duetted with Jerry Butler.

She was playing the piano and singing in church by the age of nine, and also sang in gospel choirs. It was in her late teens when she turned her attention from gospel music to singing rhythm and blues.

After recording for a few small record labels, she was signed to Vee-Jay Records in 1963. Everett put out an album titled You’re No Good in 1964. “The Shoop Shoop Song (It’s in his Kiss)” made the Billboard Top Ten in 1964.  The Everly Brothers song “Let It Be Me” became a top 5 hit in that same year.
