Baseballs (The) are a German rock and roll band founded in Berlin in 2007. They became popular with 1950s and 1960s style cover versions of modern hits.
The Baseballs released their self-titled debut album in 2009. The album, which was produced in Berlin, featured covers of classic rock and roll songs such as “Love in This Club” by Usher, “Crazy in Love” by Beyonce, and “Umbrella” by Rihanna.
Their success continued with the release of their second album, Strike! in 2011. This album featured a mix of covers and original songs, with a focus on a 1950s rock and roll sound.
The Baseballs released their third album, Strings ‘n’ Stripes, in 2014. This album featured a heavier focus on original material, as well as covers of pop songs such as “Wake Me Up” by Avicii and “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke. This album was a commercial and critical success, with the band earning a Gold certification in Germany.
