Bachelors (The) are a group from Dublin, Ireland. In 1957 the founding members formed their first band together called ‘The Harmonichords’ (also known as ‘The Harmony Chords’), an instrumental harmonica-act but changed the name to ‘The ‘Bachelors in 1960.

During the 1960s, they had many successful songs (including “Charmaine” and “Diane“) in music charts across the world.

Despite their last chart single being in 1967, they continued to play the cabaret circuit. In 1984 the Cluskey brothers and John Stokes parted company and the brothers appeared as “The New Bachelors”.

In 2008, a compilation CD ‘I Believe – The Very Best of The Bachelors’, featuring the 1960s hits together with two new songs recorded by Con and Dec Cluskey, was released. It reached No. 7 in the UK album chart.
